Adventures in Preservation (AiP) is a non-profit organization offering volunteer vacations designed as hands-on building conservation workshops, which are held at a variety of locations around the world. Our projects promote traditional building techniques as a sustainable practice; create an atmosphere of international understanding; and use historic preservation as a powerful tool for change.

Our mission is to save the world’s architectural heritage by supporting community-driven preservation projects that seek to create economic and environmental sustainability.

Internships are volunteer positions, but may lead to opportunities to participate in AiP workshops at a discounted rate. Our interns are not required to reside in the same vicinity as our office (unless otherwise noted on the job announcement), as much of the work can be done remotely, i.e. online and via the phone.

Those interested in applying for an internship should submit their CV or resume either by e-mail or regular mail. If sending an email, please indicate the internship title in the subject line of email. Email letter of interest and resume to info@adventuresinpreservation.org; or mail to Adventures in Preservation, 1557 North Street, Boulder, CO 80304 USA.

Current Internship Opportunities

Fundraising Intern

We are looking for an intern to help us raise funds to cover individual project costs as well as general office expenses.

The Intern will serve as a Fundraising Assistant, working on education and promotion as it relates to finding financial support.

This is a great opportunity if you enjoy “talking preservation” with people, and if you excel at speaking, listening and sharing. Raising money in an effort to make the world a better place is a powerful experience; remembering that donors feel happy that they can give to a cause they are excited about. Tasks may include identifying individuals and groups with an interest in preservation and sustainable development; talking to individuals and small groups; identifying potential corporate sponsors. If you are a self-starter, we look forward to hearing from you.

Adventures in Preservation is located in Boulder, Colorado, with a satellite office in Hong Kong. This is an unpaid internship with gas/public transportation expenses covered for travel in your local area. Expenses resulting from travel outside of your area on behalf of AiP will be covered by AiP if first approved. Please send your letter of interest, along with a resume, to info@adventuresinpreservation.org; for questions, call +1 303 444 0128.

AiP Spokesperson
We are looking for a spokesperson who can generate excitement among listeners about our amazing projects around the world. If you can convey the passion AiP staff and volunteers have for saving architectural heritage to create a sustainable future, we would like you to join our team. With the right spokesperson, our workshops will be filled and the positive impact we are able to have on the communities we serve will grow. If you believe you are this person, we look forward to hearing from you.

This is a volunteer position that has the potential of becoming a paid position. The main task is contacting and speaking to groups to inform them about AiP. Expenses related to speaking engagements will be covered.
